My favorite trilogy is The Lord of the Rings. The movies are just so well made. Not a lot of movies can be successful in both the critical and commercial aspects, but LOTR movies did.

And the great thing is that they achieve that not just with one movie, but all three of the movies.

i liked lotr but not enough to say it was the best trilogy ever, i prefered the matrix :)

For special effects and CI imagery I would have to say LOTR but for plot and substance I would have to go with the Godfather series.
