ufc....especially the first few events, the classic ones, where there are no knuckle pads and you have to beat 2 to 3 fighters to become the ultimate champion...a brazilian jiu-jitsu master named gracie is the champion then

If any of those guys in their primes fought now against the newer gen of UFC fighters they would get beat so easily.

prolly...but todays fighter only fight once every ufc event, unlike the the first three stagings of ufc, i think they fought 2 to 3 guys in one night...so they are also tough...

I love Mma, especially ufc. I still think Silva is the best pound for pound fighter out there right now but after the KO on Liddel and that huge TKO win over Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans is right up there too.

GSP is real good, but I think BJ Penn will beat him in UFC 94. I do agree the fighters were tough going up against 2-3 fighters the whole night, but the competition wasn't as good. I mean Gracie beat a guy in one of the first UFC's that was a boxer and he wore a glove on one hand. Most of the fighters then had one special fighting style they did and that is it. I would say out of the first 15 or so UFC's only 12% would be able to hold their own with how UFC fighters are now and well over 80% of fighters now would win a UFC if the rules were the same from when it first started.

well, again prolly....we will never know...i'm just saying that early fighters really come to fight and they are exciting to watch...nowadays, you see a lot of fighters on the ground without much action...and back in the days, you can headbutt, use your elbows...real fight...unlike today..
it gets boring when you have two fighters who are both good on the ground...well then again, it's prolly the promoters fault....

well with gracie, don't forget that is only about 180lbs, and he's going up against much bigger opponent than him(200+ lbs)...today, they have different divisions... if you suck in the heavyweight division, you can move down and beat some lightheavyweights....which some fighters are doing right now...
