Australia has the 18 years limit as well. It's been proposed to bump it up to 21 but I don't think they'll do so any time soon. The only reason I think they're trying to bump it up is to reduce alcohol-related violence, which, as far as I'm concerned simply won't work.

Uk you can drink in restaurant at 16 with parents (not spirits tho and not untill you're gushed) - otherwise 18

In Italy until October 2008 the minimum age was 16 years, and we had a bunch of drunken kids.
Now it is 18 years, and especially in the summer there is a steely control.
The problem is that many managers of pubs don't care and don't check the documents.

China must be the best country to live in for this one. We can drink and smoke at any age. there really isnt a legal age limit here or atleast no one enforces it here. hahahahha
