Read this I mean what an idiot to try and take advantage of the system just to get money and its like there are millions of ppl in wheelchairs and he feels hes the one whos having the problems
(Jan. 12) - Wheelchair-bound Tom Mundy has been unemployed for the past two years. Yet he's still making six figures by what some call "legal extortion," but what he says is advocacy. Mundy, who lives in California, notes every time a restaurant or business in the state doesn't have wheelchair-friendly tables, bathrooms or other features required by the Americans with Disabilities Act, CNN reports. He documents these violations -- however small -- and sues. Usually, the businesses pay Mundy a settlement of a few thousand dollars to avoid trial.
A lawyer says the establishments should get a chance to fix the violations before having to pay, and calls Mundy's actions "legal extortion in the guise of helping." But Mundy says his critics should go out with him in his wheelchair to see how hard it is for him to get around.
