Just interested to see if there are any hockey/NHL fans here on the site. Which teams do you all support? I myself am a Dallas Stars fan and am quite appalled at how badly we've been doing this season. Their last couple of games have been surprising but overall, it's been quite disappointing.

So, who does everyone think will take the cup this year? I've got a feeling it'll be either Detroit or the Bruins. Both have been doing pretty well throughout the season.

There are a few great American players, however similarly there are tons of great European players. At the moment, I only follow the NHL but would really like to be able to see some of the international leagues as well. Sadly, since we don't get many NHL games shown here, we don't get any international leagues broadcast whatsoever. I've watched a few of the games online before, but have never really been able to follow along with it.

I'm on the same level in that I can't stand the Red Wings though :lol: But unfortunately, they're one of the top teams at the moment and I've just got a feeling that they've got a good chance of winning the cup :(

Obviously, I'd love to see Dallas take the cup this year... but if I were to choose one of the top teams this season to win it would probably be either Bruins or the Sharks. Sharks, as you said, have never won it before while it's been decades since the Bruins have won it. The two teams will meet this Tuesday anyway for a match which will be interesting to watch.

From what I recall, Hasek only played for Buffalo, Detroit, Ottawa and Chicago? He did get to the finals with Buffalo in 99 against Dallas (and Dallas won :D) but I don't remember him playing for the Boston Bruins. He was a great goalie though, just a shame he ended up going to Detroit :icon_lol:

Haha no worries mate. I can see how you got them mixed up. It's a shame Hasek was never able to win the cup with the Sabres though.

Considering that there isn't much to go in the regular season, looks as though it's become pretty obvious which teams will make the playoffs. Dallas' performance in these last few games leading up to the playoffs has been horrendous. Not that their gameplay has been much better through the entire season, but at least earlier this year they started to look as though they were building some teamplay and perhaps looking at a playoff spot. There's always a bit of hope for next year I suppose haha.

In terms of the playoffs though, I'd really like to see either New Jersey or San Jose take the cup.
