I might have to go see that this weekend, if I can be arsed that is.

On another note, I'm a f'n moron for choosing to do an online course. The online software the university uses isn't compatible with Firefox or Opera which means that I have to download IE (I hate IE with a passion). Not only that, but half the time it's down for maintenance crap. And to top it all off, it's an incredibly disorganised course and the course coordinator is a douchebag!

That is quite an upgrade there dj. I think I may have to get around to upgrading my PC soon. Been meaning to get a new graphics card but unfortunately I haven't found the time nor money to do so. Damn university work and it's fees!

Actually that reminds me that I'm supposed to be receiving my government stimulus package real soon, so I may utilise that in some upgrades :D Government cash payments are awesome!

I went with a few friends to see that Bruno movie this afternoon. About 15 minutes or so into the movie, the cinema has a blackout and kicks everyone out telling us to hold on to our tickets and come see the movie another time.

From the 15 minutes of the movie, I didn't think it was that good. I loved Borat, but the humour in Bruno seemed really cheap. Has anyone else seen the movie? Is it actually worth seeing the rest of the movie? I'm thinking about going back and just getting a refund but if the movie does get better, I might bother going to see the rest of it haha.

Ha I would go see it, 15 minutes definitely isn't enough time to judge.

on another note, I've gone to see the hangover twice now. pure win both times.

I notice that so many people new to the site post on as many threads as possible in as short time as possible to boost their post count above 15 so they can get access to the Torrent Invites Request forum.

I suppose most people started out like this on this forum, then browsed through the TI request forum, only to see that better posts are expected of members of this forum before they will get an invite to the sister forum. I very nearly did this myself, but I wanted to do better posts anyway, but found it hard with my limited knowledge, which thankfully is growing all the time thanks to the many forums I use.

I will be asking for an invite at some point, but I am holding back for the moment, until I am fully independant with my own internet connection, which I cannot really organise for another couple of weeks as I might have to move. In addition to an internet connection, I will waste no time in organising a seedbox as I believe this will avoid my ISP interfering with my downloads and uploads.

This is the right place for me to post this as I am bored and this is whats on my mind. What started off my thoughts was on viewing the forum boards on my frequent visits to this site, seeing the same forum member as the last post all the way down the lists. To me, this does not seem a realistic way of getting respect on any forum. I personally believe that the 15 post rule is designed to encourage people to let the forum staff know more about them before offering any invites.

Having said all that, I've noticed this isn't true of all new members, some of which have posted good sensible material, which I have been thankful to read.

I will also say that I have given forum members a chance to give me advice on a subject which has been bothering me by starting a thread about download and upload privacy. It has hardly been viewed at all and there have been no replies in nearly a week. With this in mind, I don't suppose many people will read this, but I was bored and this was on my mind, so I felt duty bound to post.

For now, I will keep checking this forum and I will continue to maintain my ratios on the sites I use to download and upload from which obviously is a struggle when I don't have a home connection, but if I can do it I can't see how I see people whinge about having to maintain ratios that the say they cannot keep.

There may have been a bit of ranting on this post, but at least I've kept it objective.

It's such a shame that nobody is awake right now, not even on any of my internet hotspots, so to speak. Then again, it is 5:05 am and I really shouldn't expect anyone to be up. Probably not the best time to get started in a new forum, as there's nobody to respond, but oh well. I guess I'll just have to wait until everyone wakes up, lol.

In this thread I read a really good post by Strawberry:

I notice that so many people new to the site post on as many threads as possible in as short time as possible to boost their post count above 15 so they can get access to the Torrent Invites Request forum.

I really appreciate the honesty here and I suspect that this has happened a lot, with this forum and others that impose the same restrictions in order to gain access to some other part of the site. As this technically currently applies to me too, considering that I'm a new user here, I'd like to add a little something to it.

I've been a member of many small and large forums and websites in general. Sometimes as a standard member, sometimes as an Admin or Moderator. What I've learnt from these roles is that no single post should be pointless, every post you make should have a meaning, every post should contain more than one sentence, this gives it substance.

If a person starts filling a forum with one-liners then others may start to follow, then you would see the overall content of your forum degrade very quickly. Without content you really have no forum/website. So to get back on track a little, I honestly hate those people that come to places like this, post a few meaningless posts in order to get a quick invite.

If you consider how people act to get those invites, how well do you think they'll hold up on a private tracker where they have to be dedicated to keeping their ratio up. I can easily see those people not putting in the time or effort.

Sorry, I kind of went off in to my own little world for a moment. I think I'll stop now.

One more thing: I won't be spamming this forum in order to quickly get 15 posts just so I can get an invite. I won't post in or start new threads if I think I have nothing to contribute to the topic at hand. And most of all, I'll try my hardest not to post anything that doesn't make sense :smile2:
