So far i have been on a shared torrentswift seedbox. As I move up the ladder of private trackers, i would like a dedicated server. The only problem is I have no clue how that works. Once i have the server how do I set up Azureus or utorrent. What other software will i require to run this dedicated server. Also, I have a Macbook, so does Linux based (and there seem to be more of those) conflict or like a shared seedbox has nothing to do with my laptop. How do I set up a torrent to leech or seed? There's just a load of questions.

The second part being which dedicated server to get Softlayer, JVH Services, LayeredTech or Leaseweb?

i would be really really delighted if someone can throw a lot more than a bit of light on this subject. And guys what does buffering your account mean?

Thanks guys and sorry...:icon_cry:

From what I hear, when you rent a seedbox, you actually run your client remotely from the seedbox, that way your private tracker will update its stats.

So, you download your files from your tracker, FTP the files to your seedbox, load the client on the tracker, add the torrent files to your tracker to show you as seeding...and ...enjoy your ratio going up and up, well, as long as people are taking from it anyway. Then add more files as you go, etc etc

So I read and hear. I am looking to get a seedbox myself so been doing a bit of homework on it.

Correct me anyone if I am wrong here

There are lots of tutorials on the web.. search google for something like.. "Installing uTorrent on Linux"

OR if you dont want linux, you could always pay the extra money for Windows.
